About the Blog
Here We Talk About
- Motherhood: Working though struggles, limiting beliefs, and mom tips to help you with in mom life.
- Beauty & Wellness: Whether it's putting on lashes, rocking the perfect messy/not too messy mom bun, or finding the pair of leggings that fit just right. You know you feel more confident when YOU like the way you look, just for you.
- Personal Development: Habits, goal setting, productivity, and more to become the best version of you. This is how you take control of your life and feel like more than "just a mom".
- Finding your passion: Having your own interests, hobbies, and passions outside of motherhood is how you'll truly get your identity back.
It all started in 2016…
I was a brand new, 20 year old, stay at home mom of a 3 month old boy who had just moved across the country from Utah to Kentucky so my husband could attend law school.
From the second I saw my baby, I was fiercely in love with him and I knew that I had to stay home with him. That was all I wanted, but it didn’t take long for me to start resenting my role.
I was so jealous of my husband who was out there progressing in the world while I was at home, stagnant, in my never-ending groundhog’s day of motherhood. Never progressing, hitting my peak potential at 20 years old when my life had only just begun.
I loved my baby, but I was not prepared for all the other elements that came with motherhood.
- Constantly putting everyone else first.
- Having no control over your time.
- Having no control over your finances.
- Losing control over your body.
- The loneliness and isolation
- The constant anxiety and worry for your kids.
- The pressure to do it all perfectly, and want nothing else.
- Feeling like you’ll never be good enough.
- Losing your identity, feeling like you’re “just a mom”.
- Losing all independence you had.
- The mental load of having to do everything and remember everything for everyone.
- Feeling stagnant and not progressing in life anymore.
I remember thinking to myself, “This is it? I’ve hit my peak? This is all I’m supposed to do or be for the rest of my life?”
I loved my son but I wanted a life, identity, and accomplishments outside of motherhood too. I wasn’t willing to sacrifice being home with my kids but I also wanted more.
I totally felt trapped.
Until one day I stumbled upon a pin on Pinterest titled “How I made $12,000 in one month as a stay at home mom”, and It changed everything.
In it, this mom talked about how she made thousands of dollars every month blogging while she stayed home with her kiddos. She was able to provide for her family and progress in life, all without sacrificing motherhood.
And the thing was, she wasn’t some fashion model, she wasn’t a young traveler, or some beauty guru. She wasn’t anything that social media had told me you had to be to make it as a blogger or content creator.
Instead, she was just a regular mom sharing her knowledge and passions with the world, without Instagram worthy photos or a fancy lifestyle, and making a full-time income from it.
And that’s when it clicked. If she could do it, I could too.
I launched my blog and now I make a full-time income while at home with my kids. But more than anything, it’s helped me to rediscover myself after motherhood and have a separate identity again.
It helped me feel like I was in control of my life, like I could do and accomplish anything I wanted to, and be a mom too. It pushed me to finally lose the 70 lbs I gained after marriage, pay off all our credit card debt, become more confident and optimistic, and more!
It was life-changing.
I realized that the idea that you have to choose between yourself and motherhood was a lie. And that so many other moms feel trapped by this limiting belief too.
Which is why I’m focused on helping other moms rediscover themselves after motherhood and create a life they love so they can be the happiest most fulfilled versions of themselves too.
While blogging is what started the whole process for me, for other moms it may be starting a different business, diving into a hobby, or pursuing a degree.
Whatever it might be, I’ve truly learned that when we fill up our bucket, it overflows to fill the buckets around us. When were the happiest most fulfilled versions of ourselves, we get to be the kind of moms we always wanted to be.
So I’m focused on helping moms do just that.
Now I’m living the dream, making a full-time income at home with my kids, sipping Diet Dr. Pepper in my comfiest sweatpants, serving a community of passionate mamas who are focused on building their dream lives, changing limiting beliefs, and becoming their best selves.
