With so many attractions and activities for kids, Las Vegas is one of the top places to vacation with kids! Many of the hotels and casinos are themed especially for kids and families with kid friendly pools, shows, and events all planned with the family in mind.

With so many family friendly options in one place, Las Vegas is a great place for your next family getaway.

What about the strip?

The Las Vegas Strip has a lot to offer families like shopping, restaurants, and shows! I definitely recommend exploring it with the family on your Vegas stay!

Tip 1: Walk it during the day.

My best tip is to walk the strip during the day. Vegas is still a top destination for adults to drink, party, and have fun! And nighttime is when you’ll see the most rowdy crowds of bar and nightclub crawlers, so if you’re going out on the strip with the family, best do it during the day!

Tip 2: Avoid the smoke!

Inside the casinos and on the strip you can encounter a lot of cigarette and marijuana smoke. To avoid as much as possible, try not to walk through casinos or opt to stay at a hotel without a casino!

At the top of the soaring 866 foot tall Strat Hotel is the Sky Pod observation deck and 3 thrill ride attractions sure to be a hit! Shoot 160 more feet up to the very top on Big Shot, spin at 3 Gs on Insanity, and slide over the edge of the Sky pod on X-Scream! While all ages are welcome in the Sky Pod, the Thrill rides are for the older kids. You must be at least 52″ tall to ride Insanity and X-Scream, and at least 48″ tall to ride Big Shot.

9. Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio Fountains located right outside the Bellagio Hotel is a free light and water show that plays daily, every 30 minutes from 3pm to 7pm, then every 15 minutes until midnight. On holidays and weekends, the fountain’s hours are extended from noon to midnight. Simply gather around the fountains to experience this icon enhanced with music and lights.

10. Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Inside the Bellagio Hotel is their must-see conservatory and botanical gardens! The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a massive 14,000 square foot display of plants and flowers that is changed out each season. This is a great place to take the whole family at no cost!

Located about a 15 minute drive from the strip The Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix is the perfect place to spend an afternoon racing and riding the rides! While they do have a potato sack slide that toddlers can go on with an adult, Minimum height to ride the go carts is 54″ and 38″ to ride the rides so the Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix is most enjoyed by the older kids in your group!

Just across the I-15 from the strip is the Rio casino and the VooDoo Zipline! Swing forward and backward between the Rio’s two buildings on the cities tallest and fastest zipline. You must have 2 riders and be 48″ to ride.

At the same location at the VooDoo Zipline is the Kiss by Monster Mini Golf course inside the Rio! Rock and Roll as you putt on this 18-hole 13,000 square foot course. This Kiss themed course is a glow in the dark fun experience the entire family will enjoy.

Now that you have an entire list of things to do in Las Vegas with kids, it’s time to plan where you’ll stay! While Vegas has a multitude of hotels to offer, here are some of the best hotels in the city for families.

1. The Mirage Hotel

The Mirage may not be the first hotel you think of when looking for a great family hotel but this one is my top hotel for kids in Vegas! With it’s massive aquarium, pool, volcano eruptions, dolphin exhibit, and shows like Cirque du Solei, you’ll never have to leave the property for days of Las Vegas fun!

2. Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel & Casino

The Mandalay Bay is a great family friendly option your kids will love. Located at the south end of the strip, it tends to be less busy even during tourist season. Instead of a regular pool, the kids will love the Mandalay Bay’s water park complete with sandy beach! The Mandalay Bay is also the home of The 1.5 million gallon Shark Reef Aquarium giving you the perfect afternoon family activity right from your hotel!

3. Circus Circus

An obvious family favorite in Vegas is the Circus Circus. It has a range of activities the kids will love including the massive Adventuredome right on site that hosts shows, carnival games, and amusement park rides! The child friendly pool offers swimming lessons to younger kids just learning the ropes and poolside drinks for the adults.

4. Excalibur Hotel & Casino

Is Vegas open?

While there are no restrictions on capacity limits and large gatherings, the state of Nevada has mandated that everyone vaccinated and unvaccinated wear a mask while indoors including in the casinos, shops, restaurants, show rooms, and while on public transit.
