Today’s DIY can save you over half off on a trending decor piece, color dipped baskets! These dipped baskets can go for around $45 on Etsy but you can DIY your own just under $15! Why buy when you can DIY am I right? There are so many fun ways you can customize your basket with different colors and patterns to let your own style and personality show through! Plus you can use your dipped basket for so many things such as a planter, a place to hold throw blankets or craft supplies, or a basket for your little one’s toys.
I decided that I wanted to make a white dipped basket to go in Jamie’s nursery to hold his toys and stuffed animals. It was a perfect compliment to his nursery and cheap but stylish storage. This DIY took 10 minutes to complete plus drying time, so you can complete this project while sitting down to your favorite tv show or while your little one is napping!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Woven Basket (Ikea $12)
- White acrylic paint( $1) or Spray paint ($4)
- Foam brush– $1
Step 1
Fold in your basket to allow a clean line between the painted bottom and the unpainted top.
Step 2
Apply the acrylic paint to the bottom of the basket and paint using the foam brush. If using spray paint cover with a layer of paint making sure to not paint the folded in top.
Done!
Allow to dry and use!
That’s the best part of DIY projects, you can get the exact same look with less and just a little elbow grease! What will you use your basket for?
