This knotted ponytail braid, also known as the shoelace braid, is a super quick alternative to a regular french or dutch braid. Give yourself a unique braid look with this overhand knot braid that is super quick and simple!
If you can tie your shoes you can do this look! The only issue I’ve seen people have is they have a hard time keeping the knots from slipping throughout the day. To fix this I load my hair up on hairspray and texture spray to give it some grip!
Another way to solve this is by securing each knot with a bobby pin, the hairspray and texture spray seem to work really well for me. However, if my hair is freshly clean I may use a bobby pin or two!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Small clear elastic bands
- Texture spray (optional)
- Hairspray (optional)
I use the texture spray and hairspray to keep the knots from slipping after I’ve curled my hair!
