This tutorial has been ready to go for months! In fact, I took the instructional photos back in the very beginning of 2017! So finally, I am going to show you how I DIYed Jamie’s polka dot wall for his nursery without paint, and damage free removal!
Let’s get into it!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- A 1.5″ circle hole punch.
- Matte black vinyl. (or whatever color you want!)
Step 1 – Punch out circles from vinyl!
I got this 2″ roll of vinyl off my mom who had cut it off a 12″ roll to make it 10″ to fit her machine and had it just laying around her house (she’s a DIY maven). This
This Roll of Matte Black Repositionable Adhesive-Backed Vinyl is the same thing! The great part about this vinyl is it sticks to your wall, looks great, and can be removed without peeling off any paint! Which means damage free polka dots!
For Jamie’s wall I punched out 25 dots, but you can punch as many or as little as you want.
Step 2 – Peel off the backing and stick to your wall!
Now, peel off the vinyl backing and place your dots on the wall. I wanted to create a very randomized look and because the vinyl is repositionable, I could move the dots as I added them if something didn’t look right!
So just keep sticking and repositioning until your polka dot wall looks the way you want it too and you’re done!
These polka dots are perfect to add personality to a room without damage or paint which is perfect if you’re renting or just not sure how long you’re going to want a polka dot wall!
Done!
Was that easy or what? The entire process only took me a few minutes and I love the monochrome look of his nursery. You could even try different colors or even different shapes!
