Thinking about starting a mom blog? Wondering how much money mom blogs and mom bloggers make? Or maybe you’re worried that your blog won’t make money.
Mommy blogs are definitely profitable! To prove it, we’re breaking down 25 mom blogs that make money. We’ll look at how much each blog makes and how so you can start your own money making mom blog!
What are mom blogs?
- A ‘mom blog’ is typically a term used to describe types of blogs that post content that fall into the motherhood or parenting niches. (Content that is typically considered part of mom life).
- A ‘mom blog’ could also refer to any blog that is run by a blogger who is also a mom regardless of the type of content it publishes or niche it is in.
Similarly the term ‘mom blogger‘ is most often referring to a blogger whose blog falls under that motherhood/parenting niche. However, ‘mom blogger’ can also be used to describe any blogger that is also a mom. Sort of a “mom who blogs” type of title.

How Do You Become a Mom Blogger?
You start a blog!
But really, all mom bloggers start the same way. They start a blog, promote it, and slowly build their audiences and income over time.
It may seem like everyday there is a new mom blog that suddenly found success overnight, but any successful mom blogger will tell you that isn’t the case.
Instead there is a long line of slow growth and hours (often years even!) of hard work put in before they ever found the success they have today.
But to become a successful mom blogger, you first need a blog. But not just any blog, a blog that is specifically set up to be profitable.

How to Start a Money Making Mom Blog
So how do you start a mom blog that makes money? Starting a profitable mom blog is different that just creating a website or starting a free blogger.com blog.
1. Decide Your Topic
What will you write about? Maybe you’ll cover pregnancy and becoming a new mom, or you’re more focused on teaching other moms how to homeschool their kids. Whatever it is, this post is a HUGE help in finding your perfect money making blog topic!
2. Choose a Name
Here’s how to find the perfect name for your mom blog! You can even listen to my podcast episodes all about naming your blog here! (Or search The Blog For Profit Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts!)
3. Buy Domain and Hosting
If you really want to make money blogging, you’ve got to be self hosted. Start your own blog for only $3.95 a month here! (What other business can you start for so cheap? That’s one reason I love blogging so much!)
4. Setup Your Website
After you have your domain and hosting you can install Wordpress (the software that controls the backend of your site), install a theme (the layout of your blog), install Google Analytics (to track your blog’s traffic), and design a logo! I used Canva.com to design mine.
5. Write Some Posts
Once your site is up, decide on blog categories and start writing some posts! I shoot for one blog post per category you have so that people have something to read right from the start!
6. Setup a Blog Email and Social Media Accounts
Create an email @yourblogdomain for your blog and secure your social media accounts too so you can start building an audience!
7. Launch Your New Mom Blog!
Now it’s time to launch your new mom blog, tell all your friends and family about it, and start promoting your posts!
8. Set Your Blog up for Success it’s First Month!
Most bloggers spend their first months just spinning their wheels trying to figure out what to do next to promote success, I sure did!

How do Mom Bloggers Make Money?
Mom bloggers make money from their blogs in 5 different ways.
- Ad revenue from running ads on their blog
- Affiliate revenue from product sales made through links on their blogs.
- Private advertising and Sponsorships where companies pay for an ad space or for the blogger to talk about them in a post.
- Selling their own products and services like a digital mommy planner, printables, an eCourse, etc.
- Free gifts from companies and brands (yes, this isn’t actual cash but still counts as income!).
Most mom bloggers make their monthly income through a combination of these 5 income streams. In fact, I don’t know a single money making blogger that doesn’t have more than one income stream.
Blogging isn’t like a regular job where you get one paycheck from one place. Instead your income as a whole is made up from multiple different income streams.
Every blog is different, some make most of their money from Ad revenue and a few affiliates, while some make the bulk of their income from their product sales and affiliates and don’t run ads at all!
The cool thing about blogging is there isn’t one right way to do it! Instead there are a million different ways to be successful at it.
Here are 25 different mom blogs and how each one makes money!

Hi Cassie,
First I want to quickly say “suuuper beautiful and light theme” you’ve got here.
I just stumbled on this article and even though it was written about 3 years ago, it’s still got the sauce.
Awesome list of successful mom blogs.
I’m sure this will motivate a blog of stay at home moms looking to start their own blogs.
If other moms are doing it and making some crazy figures monthly why not give it a try.
Cassie I’ll let you in on a little secret of mine:
I’m a guy but I once setup a mom blog too where I taught moms how to make money online from home, and guess what?
I did promote offers and made some cash though I couldn’t continue because of some other stuff.
Any mom can start a blog and make good success no doubt.
They just need to do exactly what works for others
Fortunately, your article is a TOP, TOP motivation for them.
Have a great time gurl and awesome list once again.
Bright Blurb
